Chico Wedding--Tim & Bekah

After doing Tim and Bekah's Engagement shoot a few months ago, I knew that this couple would be fun to work with. You can tell that they are themselves around each other and are comfortable just being in love. Bekah and Tim met at Chico State from being in similar classes. As we heard in some fun toasts, Tim caught Bekah's attention first but you can see that there love for each other is evident.

To this lovely couple--thank you for letting us be a part of your wedding day. It was a privilege spending the time with you and you loved ones.

To you--enjoy these photos of our short time together!

Tim and Bekah were married in the Arroyo room June 12th in downtown Chico but we spent some time on Chico State's beautiful campus. Besides the wind and the groom's allergies--it was a great time!:)
All of the women had different peacock broches--here is the Bride's.
 Bekah and Tim's sassy side.
The ceremony was short and sweet--the couple surrounded by people who love them.
The details of the wedding were simple and elegant with peacock feathers, white roses, and daisies.
Travis and I wrapped up our time with the dancing but the party continued.
Thank you Palmer and Donaldson Families for such a great event. Tim and Bekah-- Congratulations!!

Overdue San Diego photos

I was looking through my post about The Real's Newest Addition and I realized that I never posted what I said I would. I was going to share some photos of when we were hanging out at their house and I must have forgotten to do it! This whole time I actually thought that I did post about it. Oops. So, here are some photos of our time together...
This is what happens when big sister gets to drink tea that mom forgot had some caffeine in it. She's too fast--can't get a picture of her:) I think she was singing to Uncle Isaac.
Trav and I get to go back down to San Diego in early July. I can't wait to spend time with family, our great friends, and our niece who will be in from Indiana! We haven't seen her since she was 3 weeks old and now she is 6 months old!
Back to editing a wedding from a few weeks ago and preparing for a wedding this weekend! Life is good...

Second Shooting--Alyssa's Grad Session

It has been so much fun for me to work with Katelyn from Katelyn Owens Photography (go check her out!). Chico is a small town so I can see how some photographers want to keep to themselves and not 'help' one another. Where is the fun in that? We are supposed to help each other and be a community. I don't mean 'help' as in give away your secrets, your photoshop techniques, etc. I mean help as in encourage one another to be better, to work harder, and to learn more. I am so glad that I know some great photographers in Chico who share the same thoughts. This is how Photography should be. As long as you are confident in your own work as an artist, what is the issue? Anyways...
Katelyn and I have gotten to know each other well in the past few months and when she asked me if I wanted to second shoot for her I was so excited! She was so great to let me tag along to basically try new things, see how she works, and build my portfolio. I appreciated it so much and really did have fun! Here are some photos of my time spent second shooting for Katelyn--thanks!!
Alyssa and Katelyn--thank you! I loved working with both you. Congratulations on graduating Alyssa!

Will power

Yeah, so my husband must think that I have some sort of will power...psshh. Either that or he just doesn't care and was really craving some of these dipped in a glass of milk...

But really--a 10 pack?! Come on. A sister needs some help and this is not help. Secretly, I was stoked when I saw them in his hand walking down the grocery aisle. (I guess it isn't "Secretly" anymore...right?)
No more Oreos for me today.
Need to go work out.
No more Oreos...

P.S--SHOUT OUT to my sister in law who is in Ireland playing with the National Field Hockey team!! She is a beast.

Little Ones--The Real Family

I don't think I can really express my love for this family. We have history, we have seriously funny stories, we have deep friendship. They make me want to live in San Diego so badly. When we visit home, they are the first friends that we visit. (As I am typing this I am listening to Pandora and Adele's 'Rolling in the Deep' is on. You should hear their 3 year old's rendition!! It is to die for!)
Elyse gave birth to their newest addition about 4 weeks ago. If baby Solana would've held out for another week then auntie Danee could've been there but it is okay baby Solana...I forgive you.:) You came at the perfect time. You are a perfect, sweet, baby girl. Elyse and I skyped a few times while they were still in the hospital and I will never forget seeing her holding her new teeny tiny bundle of joy. It is just the most awe-inspiring thing to see a mom hold her baby and to witness her looking at her and stroking her little wisps of hair. I remember Jose saying "Yeah, it is pretty awesome." Pretty awesome is right.
Anyways, Elyse and I spent some time one afternoon taking photos of her baby girl. The older sister got some photos too--will share some of those on the next post. Here are some photos of our time together.
I love how small she looks in her mommy's arms. She was so content and gave us a little smile.
I will post tomorrow about our time together while we enjoyed a glorious San Diego afternoon, Jose & Elyse barbecuing some chicken, me holding Solana and breathing in her sweet baby scent, Travis taking dangerous sharp corners while pulling Sophia in her wagon. Sigh--it was perfection, I tell you.
