Grundmann Family

I met Jodie, Ryan and their youngest daughter, Little Miss S, when she was just a few months old. She was one of my favorite babies to snuggle in the Nursery at Church. We all would basically race to the door to scoop her up!Jodie and Ryan have two other adorable children and it was so much fun to capture their adventurous spirits last weekend. Little Mr. K was on a mission to find sticks and Little Miss J was skipping along for the ride. I had so much fun on the trail along the river with this family. Enjoy the photos--this family is seriously cute!
Just had to share this--look at those personalities!!
How great would these next three photos look framed in a hallway??
Thank you Grundmann Family for allowing us to photograph your beautiful children. We had such a great time and are looking forward to watching your kiddos grow into fun, strong, and courageous people!

Celebrating my hubby

I have a pretty big to-do list, a LOT of photos to edit, and family coming into town tomorrow. But, amidst all of my things to-do, I wanted to share what we did tonight. Travis' dad is in town, which was great timing because tonight there was an Awards Ceremony celebrating the Business students who were Cum Laude(along with other awards). Cum Laude means that you have a GPA in the top 5% of your class. Wow! Top 5% is pretty amazing. Especially when you were a college athlete(he played tennis at Palomar), worked part time every year, got married, and had such a difficult wife to deal with!:)
So, tonight Trav got a medal that he will sport at the Graduation ceremony on Sunday, a "great job, babe!", and pat on the back for all of his hard work. Truthfully, he rarely studied. Taking tests comes easily to him. I know, I am jealous too. This doesn't mean that he didn't put A LOT of hard work into projects, business plans, and group study sessions, because he did. He was a very dedicated student and his Cum Laude Award is proof. He is the most honest man I have ever known, he has a heart of gold, and can do anything he puts his mind to. I'm proud of him and I just know there are great plans for his life.

Anyways--there was a buffet with carved fruit, stuffed mushrooms, deviled eggs, and more! The Business Department has the most money out of any Department in the College. I said if this was the Psychology department then we'd be having a potluck picnic!:)
 WOOHOO!
Travis with his fellow Cum Laudes.
 Ow-Ow!
 Father and Son
We stopped by Farmer's Market to get some flowers for my coffee table. $5 for a huge bouquet that my f-i-l bought=a happy wife.
Great job, Travis!! All of your hard work has paid off and in 3 days you will be walking across a stage getting your diploma.

Thanks for following! Back to editing for me:)

I used everything you gave me.

"When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and could say, "I used everything you gave me"."

-Erma Bombeck

I just walked out of my last college final-- Feeling very nostalgic. I am excited for what lies ahead, I am nervous for what lies ahead, I am apprehensive for what lies ahead.

No matter what I end up doing--whether it is full time Photography, full time punching the clock, full time mommy, or a mixture of all of the above, I hope I can say "I used everything you gave me".

And with that, I will sip my wine and enjoy this moment. NO MORE FINALS, BABY.

Pinterest

It's official. I've joined Pinterest. I have some friends who have told me that it is addicting. It's true. I have spent a few hours in the past few days just searching for things to add to my Boards.

If you don't know about Pinterest, it is an awesome site where you create your own personalized 'boards' where you can 'pin' things from the internet. I have boards for Photography, DIY, recipes, Home decor, etc. This is so much better than having to remember where you have seen things, saving urls to your toolbar, etc.

You can follow other people and repin things from their boards--addicting!

Go to Pinterest.com to request an invite to join. Look me up!:)

Weekend in San Diego

This weekend has flown by and I always think we will be able to do more than we actually do. Being here in San Diego makes me think a lot more seriously about living down here. Before I start to go on a tangent of pros and cons, I will share some photos from our trip so far. One thing that we wanted to do while visiting was go to some local coffee shops--hence all of the photos of coffee. Enjoy!
After flying into the San Diego airport, we spent the morning at Tartine, a cafe in Coronado.
Back in Escondido at another local coffee shop that we used to spend some time at in High School.
We had some friends over Friday for Dinner and Poker. Our friend's daughter Sophia was teaching Travis to play Twister.
Our day at Carlsbad Beach. It was a perfect day--minus my hubby's sunburn. How cute is she?!
This coffee shop was so cute. It was in a Victorian House and had a cute Antique shop.
Tomorrow is Mother's Day and we will be spending time with family, then flying back up to Chico for our last two weeks of college! It has been a great trip and we have loved every minute of it!
Thanks for following!

Our Graduation Announcements

I can't decide which photo to pick for our Graduation Announcement. Yes, I am running out of time--we graduate in two weeks! Which photo should I include in the card? Help me!:)
One.
Two.
Three.
Four.
Five.
Which one do you think? I am thinking either One or Two. I really like Five but I think people will want to see our faces. Right?
Thanks to my m-i-l and s-i-l for helping us take these! It is fun to be in front of the camera for a change!

Simple Pleasures

A simple pleasure I am enjoying right now...

Do yourself a favor and do the same-- It will make your heart happy.

A recent obsession...

A recent obsession of mine is an Orzo Pasta Salad. You can get a bag of Orzo from Trader Joes for 99 cents. This bag will last you a while. Adding Orzo to a salad just gives it a little more substance and I love the consistency of the little pasta pieces.
What you need:
-Orzo pasta
-Mixed baby greens
-Avocado
-Apple slices
-Blue Cheese (I add some shredded cheddar cheese too)
-Balsamic Vinaigrette Dressing

Here is what the Orzo looks like over some baby greens...in case you haven't seen it before.
Avocado--one of God's gifts to man.
Throw in your Blue Cheese, Avocado, shredded cheese, and apple slices!
It looks much more appetizing before you mix it all together. It is sooo good though!
It is fresh and makes me feel light. It is perfect for a hot, summery day like today! Thank you to my friends who introduced me to Orzo. I'm in love...
