Chico California Photographer::It's Friday

Well, it's finally Friday--The start of a three day weekend. Even for my banker husband who has rarely had a Saturday off this year! We decided that a celebration was in order. We are leaving tomorrow morning to spend the weekend in Sacramento with some friends. Not just any friends--great friends! But, I think all of our friends are pretty great:)

I'm excited because we just upgraded one of our cameras and also purchased a new lens. We are bringing some of our new camera equipment and are going to go photo crazy on this mini vacation. Well, that is always my intention. Maybe next week I will post some of our photos from our time spent there.

(insert smooth transition into talking about the weather)
The weather in Chico has been pretty amazing lately and we've been using our whole house fan at night! That is some exciting stuff, people. Whole house fan on= AC not on= lower PG&E bill! I've been savoring some summer activities like dining outdoors, wearing shorts, and early morning walks without a sweatshirt. Soon, it will be cold and brisk--that just means our baby is closer to making his debut and that makes me very excited!

And because adding a slice of lime to a mason jar of peach green tea feels like summer, here's to summer! The last summer of it being just Travis and I in this house of ours--cheers!
What are you savoring about summer? Or are you full steam ahead for Fall?

Chico California Portrait Photographer::Sneak Peek

Man, the days are flying by! Fall is quickly approaching and I couldn't be more thrilled. UGG boots, sweaters, jeans, and scarves--yes please!

With Fall in mind, I thought I'd share one more sneak peek from this family's session. True life with two little ones:)

We have a few Family Portrait Sessions spots available in October. Email me if you want to know dates--we'd love to work with you!
Enjoy your day, friends. I might jump the gun and doctor up a Pumpkin Spice Latte later this week:)

27 weeks

Hello, Third Trimester!! I cannot wait to be snuggling my baby boy. Seriously, it makes me cry when I think about it. He is such a little miracle and precious gift.

I just LOVE running into people around town and them saying "I love your updates! I read it every time you post something!" Please, don't hesitate to comment. I won't think you are a stalker if we haven't spoken in person in a while. I promise. I enjoy the posts:)

This week has been really fun! We have had family visiting and we made some progress on the baby's room. My mom is a Godsend and she helped sew some curtains for his room. She is also making his bedding and I can't wait to lay it in his crib! I will probably pee my pants when the crib arrives. 1.) Because I am so excited and 2.) Because peeing my pants these days isn't rare.

Okay, don't think I am just walking around with a puddle at my feet. I just had to change my pants once when I sneezed and a little trickle is quite common after I get up in the middle of the night to use the restroom. Ha!
Anyways, here is some 27 week info!

Weeks: 27
Weight gain: No idea. We don't have a scale at home. I'd say about 16-17 pounds.
Baby's size: 2 pounds or so
Maternity clothes: A mix.
Changes: Belly is getting bigger so it is getting a little difficult to maneuver--ran my belly into the car door the other day. Oops.
Food cravings: Nothing really specific. Loving Mexican food but that isn't new for me. We will be eating lots of it in San Diego in a few weeks--much better Mexican food there than in Chico.
Food aversions: I will eat pretty much anything if I'm hungry:)
Best moment this week: Getting his room in order more! Thank you everyone who helped!!
Worst moment this week: I can't think of anything--thankful for that!
Missing anything: I'm really missing the girls that I used to nanny for. I want to kiss their cheeks again!!
Looking forward to: Getting the crib. Yay!

Thanks for following, friends!

Chico California Photographer::Splurge

Earlier this week Travis and I bought a new dining room table and chairs from Ikea. We are SO happy with the purchase. Our dining area is tiny quaint--so our table before just wasn't working. Plus the legs were basically falling off. We were wanting something to both protect the table and add some color.

I splurged. I walked into PierOne and actually bought something. Every once and I while I will walk in there just to look around--mostly in their clearance section. Not this time. I was on a mission.

A new, beautiful, colorful table runner adorns our dining room table.
I am justifying this purchase because we had some gift cards. Totally justified to spend $40 on a table runner, right?? GASP! That is way too much money. We had gift cards, we had gift cards, we had gift cards...just reminding myself.
I love it because it has so many colors in it that it will match any other decor we decide to add to our dining area. Teal, brown, mustard yellow, red, pink, dark blue--lots of pretty colors!

Who wants to come over for dinner and enjoy our new set up with us?? Head on over!:)

26 weeks

This week has so been full. Full of late nights, lots of changes, and lots of celebrating.

Travis and I went to an All American Rejects and Eve6 concert. We lasted til about 11pm and we were done. It was a great concert and I was happy to see Travis have a good time. He was gettin' down with his fist pumpin' self.

I am starting a new schedule now of Portrait Photography and a little bit of nannying for friends. For about the past year I was watching two sweet, sweet little girls who I love. That job came to a close and I am really looking forward to this new schedule as a Photographer.

This past weekend was full of celebrating two friends getting married. I was a bridesmaid and it was a joy being a part of Anders and Ashley's wedding! I can't explain how good it felt to unzip that dress on the drive home. Baby boy was stretchin' out for room!!

Anyways, onto 26 week deets...

Weeks: 26
Weight gain: No idea. Probably about 14 pounds.
Baby's size: A little less than 2 pounds.
Changes: Oh my gosh--this appetite of mine has gone crazy. I'll eat a big meal and be full. An hour will pass and I will be starving again!
Maternity clothes: Still a mix.
Food cravings: Chocolate and ice cream.
Food aversions: Nothing.
Best moment this week: Buying the dresser for his nursery!
Worst moment this week: Some lower back pain.
Missing anything: Sitting comfortably on the couch. I pretty much just want to lay down and take up the whole couch.
Looking forward to: Our baby-moon(honeymoon before baby) in less than a month!
I think I was having Braxton Hicks during these photos--it looks like a little watermelon is under my dress!

Chico California Photographer:: Referrals are awesome!

Hey friends! People keep asking us what our plans are with our Photography business after having our sweet baby boy in November. Well, don't you fret!;) We are planning on starting Portrait Sessions back up in the early Spring and are ready for Weddings next summer!

We have a few spots left in early October for Fall Sessions so please book those now. We would absolutely love to work with you and promise to get your photos back to you within two weeks so you can take your time ordering your beautiful Christmas cards!

Also, we are offering a killer deal right now. If you refer a couple to us & they book a Wedding, you get a free Portrait Session! So, think of your friends who are either engaged or soon-to-be engaged and refer away! Referrals are the greatest compliment and we would truly appreciate it. Not only would we get to work with another sweet couple, but we'd get to photography you, too!

Remember, we travel. So, don't hesitate to refer someone who doesn't live in Northern California.

And because I think this little guy is just adorable, here is another sneak peek at the St. Germain's Family Session from the weekend. He was crashing Mommy and Daddy's photo.
Thank you so much! We appreciate you!

Chico California Maternity Photographer::Andrew and Amber

Andrew and Amber are dear friends of ours. I think it is something special with both husbands and wives become great friends. We live just down the street from each other and our babies will be just a few months apart.

We can't wait to meet their little girl and to share this experience of parenthood with great friends!
Their little girl's first name starts with a T. Amber made letters for the nursery so we used some in the photos.
Had to end with this photo of hillbilly Andrew.
Friends, thank you for allowing us to be a part of this. We love you!

San Diego California Wedding Photographer:: Allen and Abby

It was a joy having a quick visit to San Diego to photograph Allen and Abby's Wedding. They got married in an intimate ceremony in a pretty church. Abby looked just gorgeous--as you will see.

I feel truly blessed to get to be a part of every little moment on a wedding day. It is always fun to get spend time with a couple on their wedding day--the most exciting day of their lives thus far. Allen and Abby's day was, of course, no different. Enjoy these photos of their day!
We got to spend time with the Bride and Groom individually before the couple photos.
Allen's bow-tie is so great!
We love spending time with the new husband and wife!
We ended our time with this lovely couple as they headed to celebrate at the reception. Their new shared last name is on the license plate--too cute!
