Yellowstone

This place definitely deserves it's own post. There are so many pictures, I don't know which to pick! I think the overall consensus was that Yellowstone was the favorite. We saw so much wildlife and such a variety of scenery.

This was one of the first elk we saw in Yellowstone. He was right off of the road and didn't seem to mind that Dom was no more than 10 feet away from him taking pictures!

Mallory stopped to get this great pictures of a pond off of the road.

Old faithful being faithful...

At one of the Hot Springs in Yellowstone. The blues were amazing, along with the formations in the rock.

A beautiful waterfall

The one animal we were hoping to see! A beautiful Black Bear.

Travis was able to get too really close to it.

Travis was able to get pretty close to this mama elk, too.

One of the baby elk crossing the road....apparently they have the right of way.

Well, those are some of our highlights from Yellowstone National Park! On our way out of the park, we found a river where some of  the hot spring waters were flowing into. We were able to get our suits on and sit in some of the man-made jacuzzi. It was such a relaxing and perfect way to end our time in Yellowstone.

We were sad to see Mallory and Dom leave. She is off to Michigan to play field hockey in her first year of college. Be sure to root them on!

Next stop is Seattle, Washington!

In the middle of nowhere

One of our stops after all of the fun in Colorado was Badlands National Park.

There were grasshoppers, flowers,
cows, cows, and more cows.

Our next stop was Windcave National Park. This was also in the middle of nowhere but was pretty awesome. We bought tickets to get a tour of one of the caves. They have found over 100 miles of the caves underground but think they have only discovered 5-10% of it!! They told us to wear jackets because it was cold amazingly refreshing compared to the rv.

When we left the caves, we saw about 50 Bison making their way to their sleeping spot. This one walked right in front of the RV!

One of our favorite stops on the trip was Mount Rushmore. We went to the night show where a ranger taught about the history and we watched a video on each of the presidents who are on the mountain. I learned more that night than in my history classes! It is truly an amazing sight. It took 20 years to build and these men were brave, sitting in a little sling hundreds of feet high chipping away at rock.

On our way to Yellowstone, we ran into a huge herd of sheep. They were jumping across the street and we thought this little guy was worth sharing!

Next stop: Yellowstone!

Back home in Chico!

We finally made it back home! Being gone for a month and a week flew by, but we are really happy to be back in Chico. We still have lots of photos to upload from the rest of the trip but have been super busy with unloading the Rolls, doing laundry, washing our cars, hanging with friends, etc. We already miss Mal and Dom, but are lucky to have tons of awesome friends in Chico. After living in an RV for that long our tiny apartment seems huge all of a sudden. It is all about perspective I guess.

Our trip was absolutely amazing and we are very blessed to have been able to do a trip like this. God was definitely looking after us and helped us in many random times of need. We got to see tons of amazing things, and got to see tons of amazing people that we hadn't seen in a while. Thanks for everyone who made this trip possible like the Wilsons who loaned us the RV, our parents who helped pay for gas, and our friends who gave us beds to sleep in, food to eat, and showers to use! We love you all very much and thank God daily for the blessings you guys are in our lives.

We will upload some more pics from the trip once we get my laptop charger back from San Diego where I left it. Thanks for following, hope you enjoyed the pics from the trip!
