...

Not sure what to title this blog post since it is kind of a random post. The weather in Chico has been rainy and I am kind of enjoying it. It gives me extra incentive to sit on the couch and sip some tea.
Hearing the rain and wind outside makes me very, very thankful for the walls around me and the roof over my head.
I told my mom in Hawaii that she can take me with her on any trip because I was basically their personal Photographer. I got to document their trip and probably got in about two pictures myself. Thankful that my little sister was such a quick learner because she was able to get this photo of my mom and me before we went to my first luau.
This is the pig that was dug up at the Luau--was a great time! (Well, not for the pig.)
On the Road to Hana in Maui--Seven Sacred Pools.
I added some yellow to our wreath to make it a little more Spring-like. It makes me happy when I see it hangin' there when I pull up to the driveway after work:)
Quite a random post, huh? Well, I will be posting more Hawaii pictures eventually.

I hope some of you have more sunshine than rain in your forecast this weekend!
Enjoy!

Back to the grind

I am back to the grind after spending a week in Maui with my mom and youngest sister. It was a lot of fun and I am sore from hours of laughter--literally. We are all sore from getting to ride horses for 5 hours into the Haleakala Crater.

I thought I'd share just a few photos as I still have about 600 to go through.

Pina Coladas just taste that much better in Hawaii!
This little one--she is just too much. Can you tell she loves being the center of attention? It's true. I gave her a little camera lesson and she took the photo of the flowers on the left! She was shooting in Manual mode--very smart girl:)
We stopped on the side of the road to enjoy this sunset.
I think this gives a good idea of what our week looked like--beach, sun, blue water, smiles, and giving Kennedy our undivided attention. I love her to pieces!
Thank you, Mom! Definitely a trip of a lifetime.

Northern California Photographer--Baby Elizabeth

Elizabeth was such a joy to work with. She was just a little over a week old and was asleep for most of the time--snuggly as ever.
I just love the look of a newborn little girl in her daddy's arms. Her little feet are too cute.
Look at her little pout--so smoochable.
Gosh, just so sweet. Mom let me have some newborn snuggles before they left and we all had a great time.

Being a kid

Sometimes, you just have to be a kid. Amongst all of the adult things that we deal with on a day-to-day basis--be a kid. It is fun to giggle, to watch a silly movie, to wear pjs all day, or to build a fort.
Travis and I both had a three day weekend last weekend and we wanted to do something fun--something different. We planned on camping in our backyard. But, the rain on Friday put a damper on those plans. So, instead we he built a fort in our living room.
As I was falling asleep, I thought that in a few hours I would be nudging Travis to get in our bed with me. But, I also had a little inkling that wanted to be able to say that we slept in our living room fort all night. You know, on the hard ground...roughing it:)
We ended up sleeping the whole night in our fort and it was great! Not sure that I am going to ask Travis to set up another fort any time soon, but, I'm glad that we did it. I felt like I was a little girl have a sleep over with my best friend. I guess that is because I was having a sleep over with my best friend. Fancy that.

I hope that we continue to act like kids every once in a while. Even when we have our own kids, I want to build forts with them and have sweet kids taking up our fort.

So, don't forget to have fun in this crazy, but beautiful, world. Build a fort or go camp in your backyard:)
