Five on Friday

Well, another week has come and gone. It seems to go really fast--especially with the Holidays coming up.

One.
Our family is on the mend! Brody is on the last of his antibiotics and I'm not going through Kleenex like they're out of style. Is that the saying? :)

Two.
I've been making coffee every morning this past week. I usually don't do this but this week, I have declared it necessary.

Three.
Travis let me sleep in yesterday morning. I've never understood why couples do the whole "If I'm up, you're up!" thing. Think about giving each other a little treat and take the baby out for a date in the am. Believe me, it is so worth it! But then again, sleep is my love language! :)

Four.
Went to TJMaxx for some gift shopping and saw the craze that is Holiday shopping. Thankful we have Amazon Prime. :)

Five.
This rainy weather up here in Chico has been so fun. The best part for me? Having Brody wear his awesome rainy day clothes--like an ADORABLE beanie and a vest that he got for his birthday. He is such a stud.

We have photo sessions and fun family stuff on the calendar this weekend. I hope you all enjoy your weekend!

Broderick:: Happy First Birthday!

Wow. I know all parents say this but I just have to--how did this past year go so fast?? One year ago today I was going through this miracle. The best day of our lives.

Now our little boy is 1 year old and he is such a joy! I am so grateful to be his mom and try my very best not to take it for granted.

Here's a look at Brody's little birthday party this past weekend. We did a little red, white and blue  Nautical theme.
These were little favors for friends to take home--a bag of goldfish and a graphic print.
I'm calling this his "Where's my cake, lady?" face. We are working on his manners...
This boy LOVED his cupcake and starting clapping after taking his first bite :)
The relationship between these two favorite boys of mine brings me to tears. I am so grateful.
The past few weeks have brought so much learning for him and new things. He is talking lots and understanding more and more each day. He says up, hi, please, dada, nana, ball, apple and lots more. Saying mama has fallen to the wayside. ;) Oh, and he also says boob. Yeah, my bad. I can't quite figure out how to make him unlearn that one...

Broderick, you have brought so much joy to our lives this past year.  You have changed us. We love watching you explore your surroundings. You have become quite the character! The first word out of your mouth in the morning is either "dada!" or "ball!".  Those are two of your favorites! We keep saying that you are such a boy--you love to tackle us, throw balls around the house and you run with no caution.

Thank you for making us parents. You are our favorite little one year old and we thank God every single day that you are our baby. We love you.
 Happy Birthday, sweet boy!

Fall

Long time no write. It's been straight up crazy in the Albini household. But, at least there are cute pumpkins on our Fireplace mantel. And leftover Halloween candy on the counter. :)

For more reasons than I can think of, Fall is my favorite season. I grew up in San Diego and really had no idea what Fall was supposed to be like. Now, I definitely wasn't complaining about the 80 degree weather in November but I would trade those high temps for these bright red and deep orange leaves any day.
A new season always gets me in a mindset to organize and simplify. That is a little overwhelming this season as we have been busy and sick. Our little guy has had a nasty cold for a while now and it was just a matter of time before Travis and I were bedridden groggy-eyed chasing a baby around. But, we are on the mend and ready to conquer Brody's 1st Birthday!

And that is another reason why Fall is my favorite season. We welcomed our first baby last Fall! Thanksgiving will never be the same. We came home from the hospital last November with a newborn baby boy. My mom had made a huge Thanksgiving feast for us and I cried as I walked in the door. Really…I did. Those hormones are no joke. And now I'm thinking that Thanksgiving dinner should be a tradition when we come home with a new baby. Thanksgiving Turkey in Spring or Summer…yes please! (No, we aren't pregnant.)

I also wanted to apologize to those of you who we had to tell that we didn't have any availabilities for your Photography needs. I love working with people and hate having to say no. When I say 'book early', I mean it. So, I will be contacting you next Summer for your Fall Portraits:)

I am also so grateful to get to photograph so many of you this season. Thank you for letting me be a part of your lives. You are the best!

Well, that was my random post! Have a great rest of your week and if you are in need of some Milky Ways or 3 Musketeers--I'm your girl. But if you want any ButterFingers or Snickers, I'm all out :)
