Birth Photography:: Gavin Dean

I woke up to a text message saying "My water broke, we are heading to the hospital.". There is nothing like the excitement that comes when you know that your friend is about to experience one of the greatest joys in life!

Anders kept me updated throughout the day and when I got word to head to the hospital, I was thrilled. I was thrilled for Ashley, knowing she was SO ready to meet this sweet baby of hers!

The Maternity waiting room was filled with people who were just as ready to meet baby Lundberg. It is so fun to be a fly on the wall with your camera in moments like this. You get to be even more aware of the biting of nails and twiddling of thumbs.
Anders giving the thumbs up for baby Gavin's arrival!
 Gavin Dean weighed in at 7lbs. 3 oz. and has a full head of gorgeous hair!
 Look at this full head of hair!
 Gavin had a very intense stare down with his dad.

 Then he looked right at me and I knew we'd be great friends. I love you, Gavin!
 Congratulations, Anders and Ashley! Your son is here and he is beautiful!! We love you all so much!

Perspective:: Living Not For Yourself

This past week as been tough for our community here in Chico. A young college student, who we go to church with, was hit by a car and killed while riding her bike home. Janee was 20 years old.

We had Janee and some of her roommates over for dinner about a month ago. I am so glad we got to have them over--it all started with celebrating "National Guacamole Day" so we all indulged in some tacos and homemade guacamole. We chatted about school, boyfriends, missions trips and life. Janee was a part of the team that we went to Guatemala with in the summer of 2009.

Janee's life and death were not in vain. She lived for Jesus and she loved people well. My heart hurts but not for Janee. My heart hurts for the people who miss her on this side of heaven. A lot of people love her and a lot of young students are hurting badly.

She touched lives, deeply. That is evident if you look at her Facebook page. She continues to inspire people to live not for themselves and to celebrate the little things as you don't know when He will call you Home.

As I rocked my sweet baby to sleep this afternoon, I prayed that I would learn to love like Janee loved. And that if something were to happen to my baby before I leave this earth, that I would have the peace that Janee's family has--they know that she is with Jesus.

Janee, your life was beautiful. Because of you, I am aware that I want to hold my loved ones tighter and love them better. Thank you for modeling how to live for something bigger than yourself. Thank you for sharing the HOPE that we have. Thank you.

Tonight we will celebrate her life at Neighborhood Church at 6pm.

Five on Friday

You know those Fridays where you are just so grateful that tomorrow is Saturday? TGIF!

One.
We got back from our week of vacation in San Diego on Monday after a not so great travel day. Let's just say that I nursed Brody multiple times on our 1.5 hour flight just to keep him quiet. We were so happy to get home! (and we put him to bed super early ;) )

Two.
We learned this week that God closes doors that we thought were open. And we are also learning and comprehending more that He knows exactly what He is doing.

Three.
Coming home from a vacation always gets me in a more disciplined and organized mode. Projects around the house are getting done and meal planning actually happened this week! I'll write a post on the few Pinterest meals I've cooked--they were successes...which is kinda unheard-of from Pinterest ;)

Four.
I got to visit a dear friend in the hospital and love on her new baby boy. I came home to tell Travis "It made me want one!" and he responded with "I knew it would..." He knows me so well!

Five.
I found out today that I'm going to be an aunt to a sweet baby girl!! My older sister and her husband are expecting and I'm so thrilled for them. Crosby Ann Judd--I can't wait to meet you and spoil you like crazy! To celebrate, I got my first red cup of the season. Starbucks, you get me every November!

Broderick:: It's True...

It's true...this is how we all feel sometimes...
Like when he can't quite get our knee up over the edge of a wipes box so we can climb on it. Or when he can't use mommy's phone as a hammer. Or when someone isn't sharing their coffee.

Oh, the life of a 10 month old:)

Despite what this photo portrays, Brody has been SO MUCH FUN to be around. He is super giggly and thinks he is having conversations with us--I could listen to his babble all day!

He is almost 11 months old and that just seems crazy to me. He is definitely a climber and desperately wants to get up on the couch on his own. I'm so glad he can't do this yet:)

October and November are super busy months for us personally and with Photography so stay tuned! Thank you for following along with our little family:)
